Making Music That Matters
"Beloved Shirli and Ovation, I stand with you in your vision to touch hearts and change lives. May God bless you abundantly as you minister through song!"
"Thank you all SO MUCH for such an amazing worship experience and concert yesterday afternoon! It is a joy to see your beautiful faces and feel the spirit move through you. Keep up your amazing ministry and love to you all!!"
The theme for this concert was born in my spirit after much prayer, meditation and reflection about the goodness of God in my life and in the lives of those I hold dear. As I look at my life's journey, I continue to be amazed at the "awesome goodness and mercy" of God! There have been many times in my life when other people have given up on me, turned away and even walked away. There have even been times when I gave up on myself! In those difficult times, the one constant has always been God! I have spoken to so many other people who have shared similar stories of God's faithfulness in their lives. In thinking about some of these conversations it seems only right that our music for this concert be offered up as a "living testament and celebration" of God's faithfulness, mercy and love! Our hope is that our music will uplift, strengthen and inspire our concert attendees. And that we transcend from "concert to worship!"
I am also so pleased and excited to share with you that this concert will be an important fund raising effort to help us raise monies needed to record our very first Shirli Hughes and Ovation CD project this coming fall. There are several ways that you can be a special part of this project, in the months ahead. If you would like additional information on how you can share with us in this important project, please email me and I will be happy to share more details with you. There will also be more exciting details and participation opportunities revealed in the months ahead via our Facebook and website pages, so plan to stay in touch with us!
We would also love to hear your stories of God's faithfulness in your life! Please e mail and share them with us!As always, "thank you" for your continued prayers and support. It is our sincere hope and prayer that right now, as you are reading this message, that you feel God's love surrounding you and that you feel our prayers for you and your well being! We look forward to seeing you on April 28th! Until then, may God continue to "bless you!"
